WALKING and CYCLING

Over 93,000 acres of National Parkland are waiting to be explored! There are a number of designated way-marked New Forest walks that start from various car parks locally. The hotel has various walking maps available to point you in the right direction!

Cycling in the New Forest is great fun. Like walking, there are many specially created routes especially designed for cyclists. Pack your own bikes or rent from one of the various Cycle Hire shops locally. We also have a Cycle map available.

HORSE RIDING

What better place to enjoy the pleasures of horse riding than in the New Forest? Acres and acres of trails and open parkland are waiting to be explored. Several stables are located in and around the Lyndhurst area. Pre booking is advisable for your chance to see the ‘real New Forest’ off the beaten track!

WATER ACTIVITIES

Just 9 miles from Lyndhurst you can find Southampton Water and The Solent. Home to Cross Channel ferries, hovercrafts, local pleasure cruises, just a short hop to the Isle of Wight. Southampton of course boasts many impressive luxury liners and also the opportunity to do the ‘Titanic Walk’. The history and splendor of the famous docks can all be seen in the amazing Maritime Museum.
